Last week I got my c-section date scheduled at Yale New Haven Hospital for Feb. 28th at 7:30am and I have to be there around 6am I think. The hospital called me yesterday to set up my pre-addmission testing on the 25th. It is starting to seem so real now! I have started to gain weight (7lbs so far) and that is making me a little nervous but I think I can deal with it as long as I don't gain more that 15lbs since I still have about 20 to lose. I was unsure on the surgery date because I was waiting to find out the schedule of my favorite Dr. at my OB's office. So, he will be doing the surgery unless this baby decides to arrive earlier
I guess I will miss the March support group unless I am feeling great and then I will stop downstairs for the meeting. I am really looking forward to this New Year!!!! HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!

It is so very exciting! I'm very happy for you and pleased that you are doing so well.
Will you be at January's meeting? I hope to - but I'll be on another Missionary trip in Jamaica during February's meeting, and if you aren't at March's - it will be quite a while, so we'd have to get together for a bite to eat in between.
Congratulations!
God Bless,

Hi Kathy,
Are you going for another two weeks? I was just telling someone about you the other day and how you described Jamaica away from the resorts and what you were doing there. I will be there at the January meeting and hope that someone will join me at the greek olive after. Are you up for it? Any other takers?

Hi Heather,
I'm going for 12 days. A nurse who has been to Jamaica with us previously, and a friend of hers who has a Ph.D. in education and works in health services, developed a training guide for community health workers. It is based on the book - "Where There is no Doctor" and teaches basic first aid, how to tell if someone is having a heart-attack, etc. Its very exciting for us. Twice we have brought a medical team and held a free clinic - that's great, but now we will teach people there how to help themselves, which is better. We are also going to speak with the Ministry of Health to set up a foundation where we can sponsor locals in nursing or to become a doctor, bring them here for 3 months of additional training, and have them go back to their communities for a minimum of 3 years to help those in need. Its exciting.
Yes, I'll join you at the Greek Olive after - I love our little get-togethers after the meeting.
Happy New Years.
Kathy
