I am home (long)
Hello Everyone! I got home about a half hour ago and decided to check on my emails. Thank you so much to everyone who sent me an email or a post to wish me luck! Love you guys!
Monday morning, I got to the hospital at 7:40 (had to be there at 7:50). I registered and then sat in the waiting room (nothing ha**** me yet that I am here for surgery). I ended up sitting there with Mom and Dad until 9:20. The whole time, I was sitting across from Erminia's husband and daughter (she works at Aetna also and had her surgery on 12/27). Unfortunately, I did not realize this until they called me into the prep area. LOL! (SORRY!)
I was in the prep area and I was tag teamed witht he nurse and the anesthesiologist. Everything went well and the Dr. A came in and asked if I were ready to go... Sure was... (Still not worried). I walked into the OR and was introduced to everyone. Then I was talking about hings I got for Christmas and I dont remember anything after that.
Surgery went well. My gall bladder was removed and my liver looked healthy. Dr. A still did the biopsy.
I had a room for 2 but I was the only one in it... couldnt have asked for a better set up. Tammy stopped in (you look wonderful Tam!) and my friend Nichole was there. I was all morphined up and really dont remember much! The ligas's stopped up and I was glad to see them too!
To all the pre-ops:
The second full day in the hospital is the worst!!! WALK, WALK, WALK! It really makes you feel better. I second guessed myself the whole day! I cried to my Mom on the phone at 5:30 in the morning... everything. Your body has been through alot in the last 24 hours and your emotions do not keep up! They take your morphine away as well .. now you have to ask for pain meds... The good news, you get the nose tube out!! That evens out everything!
The third day, you are a whole new person... you are balanced (in the head)... no more crying, you dont feel even half of the discomfort you did... AND your catheder comes out! WOOHOO! THEN, you get to have a shower! Whoa.. all in one day (is it Christmas again?). You can also have Crystal Light! Love that stuff!!!
Today.. the fourth day, I felt wonderful! You get your protein shakes and have to drink them over the course of an hour. I got strawberry and it was actually pretty good!! Then I saw Dr. A and he chatted with me in the hall. I have to go see him on the 11th.
I am so happy to be home and to have made the friends I have through this website! Hugs to you all and Happy new year!!!
Love,
Beckie

Hi Becky,
I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Thanks for the info on the days that follow surgery. I'm scheduled for Jan. 10th and I'm so excited.
I have Athem BC/BS and I'm just praying they pay for everything. I got a letter from them saying I was approved but then at the bottom of the letter it says something to the affect that they may not pay for it.
Why do they have to make everything so confusing?
Glad your home and doing ok. I wish you the best.
One more question did you have to pay your deductable before your surgery?
Cindy
Welcome home Beckie!!!!
I am so happy to hear everything went well! Great news!
So funny --- you were talking about what you got for Christmas and don't remember anything after that. Same thing with me. I remember being in almost mid-sentence and I was OUT!
I love when post-ops post (that sounds funny) on the boards right after their surgery so you can give the pre-ops a real good indication of what goes on while it is still fresh in your memory.
Welcome to the losing side!!
Tara
