Surgeon: John De Barros

I just got approved for my surgery and when I called yesterday to confirm, they told me YES I had been confirmed but my surgeon had moved out of state and that I would have a new surgeon, John DeBarros. who is from Connecticut. I dont know what to think, and so I am coming here to ask if there is anyone out there who knows of this surgeon or has any experience with this surgeon. PLEASE HELP!! This is sooooo upsetting, I havent slept well last night just worrying. MY preop is Jan 21, 2005 and will be meeting him then for the first time. Thanks, Lourdes

I have never heard of him and I think I checked out just about all the physicians for bariatric surgery in Ct. I would find out what group he was with, how long has he been doing this surgery, how many surgeries has he done, what hospital did he practice with in CT. Perhaps with this info someone in CT may have heard of him. Was he in practice as a regular surgeon or bariatric surgeon? Good Luck to you. Joanne

I dont see him listed under surgeons on this website as a registered or unregistered surgeon in CT for this surgery. I would definately be asking a lot of questions.

I actually think I worked with him when he was in residency. Nice guy, competent. It's been a while though. If he is pretty young, he's the guy I'm thinking of. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great.......Jen

Hi, I saw your profile. I have Barba also and my date is set for 2/10/05. I am just waiting on approval from the insurance company.
