This Friday I will be 4 months post and to date have lost 90 pounds. In past 3 weeks I have slowed down in losing weight or no weight at all. Is this normal or the end or will it pick up again. Any and all replies welcome. Thanks Brian P.S. I hope to satr attending the New London support meetings as I have more time now that the holiday season is over. Hope to see you there.

Hrmm, isn't Brian "Blaze" a Rescue Hero? Different spelling, I know. Oh wait, that's Billy Blaze. He's a Fireman. Never mind! Hi Brian! I am 6 months out and down 90 pounds (now at goal). It definitely slows as you get towards your goal weight (or where your body thinks it's normal). Also, your body slows weight loss to catch up on metabolism, then it picks up again. Kick up the fluid intake and look at some of the things you might be cheating on. Like, limiting carbs just a touch more. I've noticed that has helped me. Tara

Hi Brian, I am 4 1/2 months out and am experienceing the same thing. This is my second Plateau since surgery. I keep stayig in the 87-90 lb range. I am going to bite the bullet and order my Gazzelle I have been wanting to exercise. That should help. Sometimes to get out of a plateau they say to increase your water and protein if your lacking in that department. Best of luck to you hun. I know first hand how frustrating it could be. ~Julie~

Hi Brian, 4 months and 90 pounds is great. I agree with Tara about keeping your fluids up. I feel that was key with my plateaus and increase your protein as much as you can. Oddly for me at least, I found that increasing exercise during any plateau didn't help, but icreasing both water and protein did. It does slow as you get closer to goal but then right as I approached my first year out I started to lose again. Keep up the great work, you look wonderful! Cheryl

Hi Brian, Congrats on the success! One thing I noticed was when the scale stopped moving I was still loosing inches. They never happened together...I'd lose 5 pounds, then stop for a few weeks, but drop a bunch of inches. That was fine with me! I just read your profile and see that you scuba! Well, my hubby & I are about to start classes in NE Ski & Scuba in Vernon, and very excited (AKA nervous). It's something I would nevernevernever attempt as a pre-op...No way, no how, but I think I could float better then! Now I notice I sink like a rock! Keep up the good work, and dont worry about the slow scale. It happens to the best of us. Peace, -Deb
