Hi all- I am catchiing up on posts here....Lots of good news about surgery dates and BC grandfathering in patient's that have already started the process! Lisa-you gave me the best advice anyone could have ever given me.. planning a treat each day of the holiday...and doing more exercise. I have been very good over the past week, but its not been easy. We need to realize that "real" people have treats too. We need to think like real people..just a taste and not the entire dish! OK..Christmas Eve is here tonight..not your typical Italian Christmas Eve dinner..I nixed the pasta-there is always too much food! I am taking it easy today for the calories I will consume tonight... B-Protein drink L-2oz of leftover sirloin tips from last nights dinner S-Momentum bar D-Shrimp ****tail, 1 stuffed mushtroom, 1 stuffed shrimp and 1 oz of steak. 1 artichoke(yeah, sure I can eat all this! LOL) I didn't make a special dessert...so I may try the inside of the pumpkin pie for my "treat" and leave the crust! Christmas Day- we are going to my niece's house..not sure what dinner will be.. Got my son an electric griddle so maybe he will make me an omelet for breakfast! Happy Holidays to my new friends. I thank you for the great support you have given me these past six months! I do not know what I would do without the support and wealth of information I have learned here. Love, Joanie

Merry Christmas to all my WLS friends! This group has been a great source of information and support for me over the last few months as well. I am thankful to be a part of it. May this upcoming new year bring much happiness to you and that you will all feel much lighter and healthier too!! Glad to see so many surgery dates coming up and great news about the grandfathering for BC! I had our big dinner on Christmas eve with my husband's parents. Jack's Dad eats like a bird and takes a really long time to finish his meal. Well, he now has a partner! We all got a big kick out of that. I prepared jumbo shrimp ****tail, prime rib, lowfat gravy, green beans w/almonds, salad and rice pilaf. Me and Dad needless to say had doggie bags as we didn't make it through half of our dinners. It felt GREAT! B - protein bar - 13g s - benecoffee - 9g L/D - 2 lg shrimp w/****tail sauce, salad, green beans w/almonds, 1oz prime rib w/ lf gravy, 1/4 dinner roll 21g Dessert - yes, dessert!!! 2 butter cookies w/benecoffee 6g s - the rest of my shrimp! 2oz 14g Total 63g Today will just have leftovers. For breakfast, I tried making the Atkins pancake mix -- 14g protein per serving.... but they were yucky. Enjoy your weekend everyone!!! Thanks for posting the Christmas food log Joanie, it will be interesting to see all the different food choices people make!! I never dreamed I would enjoy the holidays so much (foodwise that is) after surgery. I don't feel like I am missing anything but a LOT of CALORIES! That I can do without! Merry Christmas! Terri
