NG tube?
Naso Gastric Tube. It's used to drain (or sometimes pump) the stomach- or in our case the pouch.
The reason no blindly placed NG tube is sometimes recommended on a med alert bracelet is that if someone blindly places one and doesn't know you had gastric bypass, they could potentially perforate your pouch.
It all comes full circle back to jewelry. We need 14k medical alert bracelets. Actually, all kidding aside, there is a woman I work with who has quite an unusual problem, her stomach became "paralyzed" and she ended up having a pace maker installed under her skin to help her stomach work. She went, in 6 months, from in the 130's to less than 90 lbs. (The other end of the spectrum for us girls). Today she showed me her medical alert bracelet, which is white and yellow links from Lux Bond. Beautiful. As I told my husband, it all comes back to gold.
