I can't remember which posting were I read that the viactin calcium chewys arent right for us. I've been using them right along (9 months out) and my blood test showed everything was fine at my last test about 3 months ago. Question for all. Are these ok? Is this a valid call to nutrionist question? To tell you the truth I've got 4 boxes in all the different flavors left that I'd hate to not use. They are like my treat! I'm 9 months out, lost100 pounds, wearing size 10's & 12's, no more arthrits meds in over 9 months now Able to DANCE! Jog! Walk! Move!! Andstill breath! This is the best thing I've done for myself in a very long time. Good Luck & God Bless, Pam

Well, I'm 2+ years out and didn't know about this until well into my 1st year. My labs were always fine too. It's because your body leaches calcium from your bones to compensate. I took those chews too. I'm scheduling a bone scan w/my doctor for my next physical so I can see where I'm at with Bone Mineral Density, rather than just rely on my blood calcium count. There have been studies that have proved that Calcium citrate is better absorbed by our bodies than calcium carbonate. Someone here who is more knowledgeable will tell us WHY, I'm sure..but it has something to do with where your body digests and absorbs calcium carbonate vs citrate.
