My Info Has Been Faxed in To Anthem! Alert the Media!
Gulp!!!
Oh my goodness!!! The RN Coordinator faxed my stuff in and also told me that my dear PCP
sent a very detailed letter in support of the surgery...God Bless him....(I don't know why..but tears are coming to my eyes as I type this) ( I just quit smoking..kinda looney..more than usual)
Please pray for me that it goes through!!! I veiw this surgery as a chance at a whole new life...a chance to make the last third of great and useful quality for myself and others...this might be the best Christmas gift I could ever recieve!!
Please keep your fingers crossed and thanks for putting up with me in my various "stages" of exploring this surgery...I do truly appreciate it! I am kind of like the Cowardly Lion sometimes....(RUFFFFFF....grrrrrr>>RUFFF)
(Anyone got any idea how fast Anthems turn around is??Lauren where ARE you???)
Merry Christmas,
Happy Hannukah
Happy Kwanza
...and Happy Any Other Holiday I might have skipped cause I don't know about it...

Good luck and I hope you get approved soon. When mine was received I had an answer within 5 days. I recommend that you give them a call and make sure they do receive it. Mine was faxed and when I called I was told they never received it or it was possible that the fax was not clear so was disguarded. Once they do have it they don't take that long with an answer but a written one to me took a long time.

I just got the word that I was approved on Tuesday of this week and my surgery is on the 27th. My claim was sent to my insurance on 12/10.
I called though. I couldnt wait to find out and the lady at Aetna was really nice (for a change).
I would give it until.... maybe Friday or Monday before you make your first call to your insurance.
Good luck!!!!!!
Happy Holidays!

Hi Sid,
IF Anthem State Preferred approves the surgery, I will be going to Hartford Hospital and the surgery will be done by Dr. Darren Tishler...Lap RNY.....Connecticut Surgery Group has just branched in to bariatric surgery and my Doc is heading it up. His credentials are impeccable and he has had 0 complications or mortalities thus far....( geez..hope one's not overdue..YIKES)..(Only I would think that...
)...
When I think back this whole process has gone quickly...I walked in there for a seminar and consult on November 18 th!
Well...let me not jinx myself yet...
Keeping fingers and toes crossed!
