I like winter for the most part. This year I think I will enjoy it even more because I will not feel the pain from arthritis as bad as I have for so many years! Hopefully I will be able to go up and down the hills and feel comfortable enough to ride on the sled w/ her! Also I look forward to building a snowman w/o having to take breaks or watch from the side lines. As for the negatives, I have no clothes that fit!! I guess I will have to go shopping..... The slick roads are the worst part of winter though! Carmen

Hi Kathy, Personally, I do not like winter at all. I am always cold, and now since surgery I am cold all the time anyway...I also hate how it's dark at 4:30 when I get out of work. 6:00 pm feels like 9:00 pm...I am a sun person, I need the sun to thrive. I really dread the next couple of months. But, I make the best of it. I hope to someday move somewhere tropical. Not Florida, but I don't know where... My husband does snowplowing, so while I like the $$ when it snows, I also do not like to drive in it. I like Christmastime, and I like to watch the snow falling from inside my warm house. But, those are the only things I can think of that I like about this time of year. I just bought two winter coats, one dressy and one ski jacket, because all of my clothes from last year were huge, so I donated them. It is expensive, but fun to buy smaller sizes. I really need to buy some shirts and sweaters, because I don't have any from last year that fit me, so I donated all those too. The only thing in my closet are the new short sleeve shirts I bought for the end of summer and fall. I just wear a big bulky sweater over the shirts to work so I don't freeze. I am looking forward to April too! My husband and I are taking my 5 yr old daughter and my 10 year old niece to Walt Disney World. I look forward to going on some rides...something I haven't done in years!! Let's hope winter is over soon! Anne

Hi Anne, Last April We went to Dinsey World for 7 days and we had a blast time. You will love it and will enjoy yourself more because you feel much better after this surgery. We put the kids with Mickey Mouse on our Xmas card. they came out nice. I noticed I get colder myself since I had this surgery and my husband cannot believe my hands are so COLD!!!! LOL Hugs Kathy K

I am not much of a winter person. I love the other three seasons, but could leave winter out of it. Not to mention I am sooooooo cold this season after WLS. I hate to drive in the snow as well. Some positives are I will be able to enjoy sledding. I will be able to get back up on ice skates this year without feeling that my ankles are going to cave in beneath me. I'm wearing size M or 10 coats and jackets vs last years plus sizes. Hugs, Maggie

I used to like winter a lot more when I was small enough to ski. I am hoping that by the end of this ski season that I will be back on the slopes. I want to ice skate and sled with my kids this year... I am so glad to be fit enough to do this!! My winter coat zips right up this year too! Couldn't wear it last year. I like watching the snow, but hate driving in it. Hope my new 4WD works okay. I have a pretty hilly ride from E. Haddam to New London to get to work. The only other thing I don't like about winter is when my power windows freeze and I can't order my Dunkin Donuts coffee at the drive thru without opening my door. UGH... looking foward to having some fun in the snow this winter!!! terri
