Hi guys... Please, someone help me. I am living in the twilight zone!!! I am 4 weeks out yesterday and I cannot break the 30 lb mark. I got to 29 lbs down over a week ago. Then I gained 3 lbs, then I lost it. Now I have gained it again. I am on solids (fish and turkey/chicken) and I know the meats I have been eating are a little on the salty side ( with seasoning). But, I am only eating 4-6 oz a day still! I am getting in all of my water, and I am exercising. I am serously terrified I will only lose 30 lbs. Anyone have any suggestions?? Should I go back to mush? Liquids? I'll do anything. K

K, Are you getting enough protein in?  4-6 oz. of meat is only about 50 grams of protein a day.  This far out you should be getting at least 65 grams a day if not more like 85.  Do you have another protein source like a shake.  A lot of people say upping their protein works.  Everything else sounds good. Good luck, Bev

Like the previous poster stated, check out your total protien grams for each day. I would try and make sure to get close to 80grams a  day. Add in a protien shake to help you reach that. Otherwise, be patient. Weight loss can be sporadic for some people. I know I would stay the same for sometimes a week or two than drop several pounds all of sudden. I am sure you will start to se the scale drop down again soon. Just keep  up what you are doing.

hmmm...I had Dr. Bell as well....I don't remember being able to eat fish, turkey and chicken at 4 weeks????? you could always call the office and talk to someone...but I would review your diet details--I can pull out my paperwork when I get home tonight...and check in with you later...but keep the faith....this surgery will change your life! for the better--promise!

I have all the paperwork. I've been eating fish for a little over a week, and chicken/turkey for just a few days. I am following the diet to the letter. I called the office and spoke to Paula (she is SO lovely), and she helped me to figure out that I was hold a lot of water due to my exercise and my cycle. Whew! I got up this morning and have lost 4 lbs. Thanks goodness! I was starting to think I was the only one on the planet this wasn't going to work for! Thanks for your support, everyone!

First, make sure you are getting in your water and all your protein. Second, I was in your boat, I am almost six weeks out (I lost 36 pounds in those first weeks) and after 2 1/2 weeks I stopped losing and had gained a few pounds, next thing you know 2 1/2 more weeks went by and nothing...I had me a pity party but, lots of people said I would stall and not to worry...well, earlier this week I started losing again and since monday I have lost 7 more pounds...so don't give up, just keep drinking your water, measuring your food, and excercise !! Remember you lost a lot of weight in 4 weeks and your body needs sometime to readjust itself. Best to you !!
