Hi everyone! I wanted to share some good things with you all today. First of alll, I GOT A JOB! I start a week from Monday. It's a good one too. ;) It's for a mid size law firm in Hartford, but not downtown, so I don't have to pay for parking or have to invest in buying fancy clothes thru my weight loss journey (phew!). I'm thrilled with their offer, and look forward to something new! I felt that yesterday something happened to me really, really positive. I took my girls to the mall to get a few Christmas gifts. I walked the mall I don't know how many times, and didn't flinch. I even......get this.......drumrolll please......took my kids out to lunch. We went to Ruby Tuesdays. It's my first time going out since my surgery. They let me order off the kids' menu, I ate about 5 bites, and took the rest home. It felt so NORMAL!!!! My kids were flyin' high that their mommy could do stuff like that again. Last night we had the Christmas Carol sing for the town at the steps of the library. The kids and I sang our hearts out, Santa came, the town decorated all 4 firetrucks with TONS of lights, then they had a party at the town hall. I stood for over an HOUR, and before it started, walked to get the kids hot chocolates (a tea for me) and then back. Again, got tons of exercise, and my body feels fantastic. I just wanted to share with you guys that I feel like I've come to a turning point. I feel wonderful, my nauseau is getting so much better, I've lost a total of 41 pounds, my energy level is back, I'm making good food choices, and I couldn't have done it without the support I've found on this message board. I've learned so much from all of you, and the information you share with me is really helping me be successful with this new gift I've been given. Thanks for letting me share with you. I'm starting to feel like myself again. ;) P.S. Check out my profile - I've got new pictures of my kids on it! Love, Tammy

Tammy -- Congratulations -- you're already reaping big rewards from the surgery. I bet it just feels wonderful to participate with your kids again, and being able to go to a restaurant again feels like you're getting a little bit of your life back. And boy do you eat a little bit of food!! Get used to waiters looking at you with big concern on their faces, asking "was everything okay?" Congrats!! Kathy

Tammy, How great to log on and read this post. It seems like yesterday you wre feeling all the frustration of the waiting process. Isn't it incredible how wonderful this surgery is. The great thing is that this is just the beginning for you and it keeps on getting better and better. Good luck with your new job. Sounds exciting. Congratulations!!! Love, Maggie

Tammy- I am so happy you are starting to feel normal. It took me almost 2 months to start feeling that way. I'm so glad the kids had a great time with their "new and improved" mom this weekend. Congrats on the new job. Hugs- Anastacia

Hey Tammy, That is such a good ppost to read from someone who is just 2 weeks out. Although I am doing ok, I do wonder when I can go out to a restaurant with my husband and order something. That will be a nice treat for sure! Just out of curiousity, what were you able to order off the menu? Thanks and Good Luck, Carrie

Hi Carrie! I'm 4 weeks out, I don't think I would have been well enough to do all of that 2 weeks ago. I ordered mashed potatoes (no gravy), zucchini and broccoli. The vegetables were so well done, they were almost mushy, and perfect. ;) I miss my veggies! Tammy
