You are not a freak. I had surgery 9/3/2004 and I have to say the first two weeks for me was the hardest. We had two weeks of liquid only. That was tough, but after that I was just so happy to eat something. I think what I missed the most was chewing (as ridiculous as that sounds). Hang in there. Let me know how you are doing.

Oh Deanna I feel your pain! I so remember that! It's the old "HEAD HUNGER"...it's a haunt! Try to go out when they are eating...take a walk or something. I almost wanted to jump off of a bridge my my dear friend was here and was eating italian food right after my surgery, not to mention tons of sweets! I wanted to die....she didn't do it on purpose of course, but it was so tormenting...I should have just said something, but I was too angry, depressed, etc etc....so you are very NORMAL g/f....just vent away here when you need to! Hang in! xoxoxo JA

Hi Deanna, I know I'm going to be repeating what you have been told from the posts before mine but You are Not a freak. What your feeling is completly normal. I had a very bad bout of depression after surgery and got very testy especially when my family was constantly ordering piza and whatever else I couldn't have. It's frustration and I can promise you It Does get better. Hang in there. Keep your chin up and concentrate on the long term. This too shall pass. ~Julie~ 8/9/04 370/285/150
