Pre-op weight loss
Hi Christopher,
My surgeon would not schedule for surgery till you lost the weight. I had Dr. Aranow. But one thing I will share with you is I had lost the weight needed and then some, was officially weighed in at the Dr.'s office but by the surgery day had gained back some. In the class on what to expect at the hospital they said if you hadn't kept the weight off on that day they would cancel your surgery But they never even weighed me and I heard that from quit a few people.
For my pre-surgery Diet I did The South Beach diet and found it very successful. The weight comes off quick at first and it re introduces the good carbs in your diet. I had stayed on the first stage of the diet longer than the norm and lost over 50 lbs. I wish you and the Mrs. the best of luck and success.

Hi there! I also had Dr. Aranow and he won't schedule your surgery until you lose the weight. I had a hard time losing it, but then went on a diet where EVERYTHING I ate was preweighed (i.e. lean cuisines, lean pockets, everything already prepackaged) and I lost it quick. I wasn't good at portion control on my own, but when it was prepackaged, voila. It came off.
Good luck! It's well worth it.
Love,
Tammy
