CT Anthem BC/BS / Aetna..AND MY SURGERY!
I do wish you luck and I wish US luck...maybe we'll be in at the same time...I would like to do it after Chritmas...like Dec30...maybe 31!!! LOL...
I don't like this whole being rushed shctick though..I have anthem through state of Ct employment and it might not be an issue according to a helpful post one of our members sent...but I am thinking they won't make it easy for me..we'll see...If anyone can get you in quick it will be these guys!
Let me know how it turns out!! Maybe I'll get to meet you on the 20th at the support group. I'll definitely be there.
I gotta run around and buy some loose sweats and huge ****s to lay around in..and clean the house a final time and make the futon downstairs into a bed...get the "hospital room" all ready...AND work and run to remaining appointments....whew!!
Take care and thanks for writing!

STATE OF CT EMPLOYEES,
Just have your doctor put in your paperwork for approval now before the end of the year. Even if he is not scheduling you until Jan, Feb or Mar at least you will get your approvals now. If the time comes next year that "all of a sudden" Anthem has a problem with your surgery, they wont be able to do anything about it because you would have already received your approval. If your doctor has all of what he needs to submit you now, there should be no reason why his office cant get the paperwork in now. Sure Anthem could always make it a little harder to get the surgery, by making their guidelines a little stricter, but for State of CT employees, they cant just drop it. They are not chaning their policy of looking at them on a case by case basis, which is what they do now. If you have the co-morbidities now, I do not see why they would deny you. You can always appeal if such a thing could happen. But like I said earlier. They cant change their policy for us midstream. I have that on the highest authority. Anthem told me this, and I have spoken to several different people there on this. They did say that for some companies that have Anthem that have their renew date in January, that they were changing their guidelines for approving the surgery. They said that they were going to be stricter on their guidelines. So again, it goes back to how many co-morbidities you have. Listen, if your really a candidate with health issues it should not be a problem, but people who are doing this to look better, are going to have a problem getting approved. And thats how it should be anyway.
PRAISE THE LORD! Yes, I was relieved about us state workers too..at the time I posted this I did not think about all of our contracts in CT being different..(non state worker /private sector)...and it seems that maybe the RN Coordinator did not realize this either...I did call her after getting the info..thanks to dear folks on this board....I do still feel bad for other anthem members however!
Thanks for the info and reassurance...having planned and girded myself up for this..I don't want to stop now!
Merry Christmas,
