Dr. Barba's Patients

Ok, I know you people are out there somewhere. I was just at the support group meeting last week and there were a lot of faces. I am tryhing to keep my encouragement up but I feel like thiis process is taking sdo long that I should just forget about it and find a new doctor. I've done all my pre-op testing except that I can't get pass the nutritionist who is asking me to lose a small amount of weight. It seems like everytime some mentions the work "diet' to me I do the exact upset. I am so tired and hurt and depressed. I'm in therapy working through my food issues but the daily bodily pain is taken it's toll on me. My question for Dr. Barba's patients is how much longer does this process take. I feel like I am ready to call it quits. Please

HI DELICIA, I AM ALSO A PATIENT OF DR. BRBA.IT IS FRUSTRATING TO WAIT SO LONG. I HAVE CLEARENCE FOR SURGERY. I LET THEM KNOW THAT I WAS READY AND I WAITED A WEEK FOR THEM TO CALL ME WITH AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE DR. I CALLED THEM AND THE SECRETARY SAID THAT I HAVE TO WAIT FOR "THEM" TO CALL ME. TODAY IS WEEK TWO AND STILL NO APPOINTMENT. MY HUSBAND EMPLOYER IS SWITCHING INS FROM CONNECTICARE TO ANTHEM. I HAVE BEGUN TO LOOK ELSEWHERE TO SEE WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!! KEEP AT IT. DON'T LET THE FRUSTRATION GET YOU DOWN. YOUR DAY WILL BE HERE. I VISIT THIS BOARD EVERY DAY AND IT HELPS ALOT.

Hi, my name is Kim. I am also a patient of Dr. Barba's. I began my journey for gastric bypass and then opted for the LapBand. Since I changed my mind midstream, I went through all the pre-op testing for the bypass which probably extended the time I had to wait for surgery. From first information session to surgery, I waited eight months. It was the hardest eight months, but once I got through it, it was all worth the wait. Keep the faith and hang in there
