NG tubes

Does anyone know if they are still putting NG tubes in the nose after surgery-the lap RNY or open RNY? Jeanne

Jeanne , Dr Bell put mine in while I was under anesthesia, and it was out before I came out of surgery and woke up. I had the Lap rny. The ng tube was a BIG fear of mine~! Robin R

Jeanne, I had Dr Valin and as far as I know I did not have one. If I did it went in and came out while I was alseep! Carmen

Yes, they do it while you are asleep. They generally take them out the next morning, but you will still be kind of loopy so you won't even care! It doesn't hurt anyway. Christine-111

Hi Who is your doctor? Dr Aranow puts inside when I was sleeping and took it out next day in the morning. It is not hurt at all but feel funny. Kathy K
