What's goin' on... (Long)
Hi all,
I haven't really ever posted before and but do reply to posts so I thought I would play a little catch up on myself.
First of all, thanks to all I met at the get together in November, every one of you is a great asset to the CT boards. For those I didn't meet, hopefully our paths will cross some day.
Having type 1 diabetes and being on an insulin pump, among other health issues too long to write, I have really had a hard time finding someone who can advise me of the right kind of surgery to have. My endo at Yale prefers I don't do anything - but he's not into type 1 diabetes and weight loss because he feels I shouldn't be over weight to begin with (I know, find a new endo and I am trying).
Well, first things first - I had pneumonia and bronchitis all summer - it was loverly! Couldn't even muster the energy to go to the beach - one of my favorite places to be!! Long story short, I have a massive sinus infection and it has been causing all my respirtory (sp) problems. I am having surgery Dec. 22nd to take care of this problem. Once I am healed, I can continue on my WLS journey, and find the support I need from an endo to live my dream of becoming healthy.
Thanks to Carolyn for all the support she has given me. I am sure I will be calling you for more advise sometime in January!
Happy Holidays to all - I will be able to keep up on the boards while recovering which is nice because with the hectic schedule I normally have, I have to squeeze in my time on the boards!!
Thanks again to all I have meet and all the inspiring stories I have heard, it helps me to continue on this journey.
Love, Nancy K.

Thanks for the support Kathy... I am so glad I got to meet you. You are such a caring person. I can't wait to have this surgery and see if it improves things ( it has to!!).
Keep up the good work on your weight loss - you need a new picture because you sure are glowing with your hard work!!
I will call if I need company although I don't think I will be looking so great! Thank you so much for the offer.
HUGS,
Nancy K
Hi Nancy,
It's great to see you post. I say try Dr. Sorli out of Backus. He is my endo and I love him. He has a great bedside manner and is totally supportive of WLS. He works a lot with Dr. Valin's office. You might have to wait a bit to get in, but it is so worth the wait. Oh, he's not hard on the eyes either. He He...
Best wishes with your upcoming surgery. I hope that solves some problems for you. Please email me if you would like any more information about Dr. Sorli.
Maggie

Nancy-
Thanks for your update. I sure hope they can get your sinus problems cleared so you can get on your weigh (way!) with WLS research for Type I diabetes. This may be a stupid question... Have you posted on the main msg board for anyone with type one that improved after WLS??
Good luck with your surgery...and keep in touch with us!!
Hugs,
Joanie
