DOWN IN THE DUMPS

HI GUYS, HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP. I AM DOWN IN THE DUMPS. I HAVE CLEARANCE FOR SURGERY. I CALLED THE DR OFFICE YESTERDAY AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO CALL ME. THEN TODAY MY DH INFORMED ME THAT OUR INSURANCE IS GOING TO CHANGE FROM CONNECTICARE TO ANTHEM POS. THAT NEWS JUST THROUGH ME OFF ALL DAY. ANYBODY HAVE ANY EXPERIENCES WITH THIS INSURANCE? THANKS

What is the effecive date of the insurance change? If it doesn't switch over until the first of the year, you may be able to have your surgery in December. Don't be so down, I'm sure you've waited a while for this, it took me 8 months to get the OK from CIGNA. Good luck!

Try not to let it get the best of you. This is the hardest part. You're almost there, so hang tough. I can't help you with the Anthem question, but I just wanted to show you some support. I hope everything works out for you. From the rumors I have heard Anthem will not be covering WLS after 1/1/05. Every policy is different though! Good Luck, Carmen

I have Anthem POS State Preferred and they have historically been very quick to approve surgery...and every BCBS is different ..in terms of 2005 coverage...so don't let rumors scare you!!! Call them and check it out for yourself! They also have a web site online. Good luck to you, Sher'
