Healthnet 2004 vs 2005

I called Healthnet lastnight and asked them if the WLS prodcedure code 43843 was avaialble next year for me. They said there is no change between 2004 and 2005. That the Dr. needs to call their 800 # and deem it medically necessary. What am I missing? Could it be that my employer approved it but some don't? I am worried that I am getting a wrong answer as I am just begining the process and couldn't afford without insurance.

Perhaps your employer bought the rider that so many insurance companies are talking about. That would be great. I'd get the ball rolling anyways!

Every employer picks their own plans. As long as your employer has the rider then everything should be fine. Call you HR department for more details on your policy. Don't wait though, get everything started just in case.
