Linda W. suggested a while ago--that we plan something non-food related for a gathering. Driving to work the other day..I got a brainstorm!! A bowling party!! How about planning one to ease the mid winter blues? Maybe sometime in Feb. I would be glad to set something up in Hamden..or if anyone has any connections somewhere more central in the state--we could go for that. The only thing I think I would need to do is to collect the money ahead of time. I did a bowling party for my husbands birthday a few years back and ended up with more people than expected..and had only reserved a certain amount of lanes. We could also plan it with food included--but that would defeat our purpose! Wish we could bring some healthy snacks in..but they won't allow it. OK..lets see the response I get from this...and I will be glad to book it. Joanie

Hi Joanie, Lady you are a genuis!! I have been trying and trying to figure out something that might be a good gathering/baby shower type of activity and bowling sounds like it would be fun. I know that we could put tables together and do the gift thing (yes Heather we do want to shop and get gifts.......). Hmmm........I will get back to you on this once we see how people feel. Maybe we could do a Sunday afternoon? Oh by the way.........I love your carousels on your profile. I am totally into them and have quite the collection. Talk to you soon. Linda

I'm in. Totally. We have a t-bowl here in Newington (off of the Berlin Turnkpike Route 5/15). They have disco bowl too which is a BLAST. I can help too - whatever you guys need. GREAT idea.

A dance on the same day? That would be a lot! Isn't the Middlesex group doing a dance in March-Peter? Joanie

Joanie, What a great idea! I totally suck at bowling but still think it is fun! I will probably look like a bowling ball by then. LOL... As far as the baby thing goes I think I would be way too embarassed. I don't like to be the center of attention ( it must be all the years of being obese and trying to hide!) I also wouldn't want anyone to feel funny about going, so lets just call this a winter thaw party! Last year I won a gift certificate to Bowlers Paradise.com for $250.00. I only have until the end of the year to use it so I had better get busy and order me some gear. I will probably be the only lousy bowler with my own equipment!!! When I am talking lousy I mean my score is usually around 70 Yuk! HeatherS
