Anyone have a small bowel resection?

Hi, I had a bypass in 2005 and initially lost 100 pounds.  I have since gained 35 pounds and I am devasted.  I am stil considered obese and should lose at least 75 more pounds.  I have had 4 sclerotherapies which were unsuccessful.  My other option, since my pouch is not stretched, is to have a small bowel resection.  This will cause malabsortion of food and possibly aid in additional weight loss.  I was told there are no guarantees but I could possibly lose another 30 pounds or so.  It won't be like after bypass surgery where the weight starts dropping quickly.  I noticed after about 1 year I was always feeling hungry.  My surgeon said the opening to my stomach is a bit larger and food is passing too quickly.  I was having low blood sugar all the time due to this as well; hence the 4 sclerotherapies to make the opening smaller, but it did not work. I was hoping with diet and exercise that I would continue to lose weight, but I just gain.   Has anyone had a small bowel resection?  My surgeon has done a handlful and I wanted to see if anyone had one and how they are doing,  I would also love some advice on this.  I chickened out back in November 07 but now feel desparate as I have come so far with the bypass, but now I am gaining and devasated.   Thanks Karen
