Hi everyone! It's been way too long since I have posted anything here, and while I need a break from studying, it's now or never! I broke the plateau from the 7th level of hell a week or so back, and I'm now 19 pounds away from my personal goal. A year ago I never would have thought I would be under 300 lbs...then 200...and now I'm 'this' close to being done and I'm ok with it. If I never lose another pound I'll consider my surgery a success. I feel as good as I ever have, and I do mean ever! I started a new job Nov 1st and so far things have gone well. It was the right decision to leave the old company, and I am a prime example of when one door closes others open. If I play my cards right this job can turn out to be a career, and in a field that I find interesting. I will admit that I deal with the fact that nobody knows I had WLS, and that has it's pros & cons. I miss the everyday "You look great, keep up the good work" morale boosters, but it's SO nice not to have people watch everything I eat and make their comments. I am hyper-aware of the sidelong glances I receive from other women and I don't know how to handle that. It's unchartered territory for me! I wish I knew what they are thinking...nah, I probably don't! So, while I havent been responding much I do try to read every post, and you all are in my thoughts. Just think, once this semester is over I'll have more free time to actually respond to you all now and again! Peace to all of you during this crazy time of year. Anyone up for a power-shopping trip?? -Deb

Hi Deb, So nice to hear from you! Wow just 19 more lbs to go to goal, that is fantastic! You are looking so good right now that I thought you were already at your goal. I am so glad that you are liking your new job. Are the other women friendly or just looking and keeping their distance. I guess it's kind of a compliment the way they are looking at you. Keep up the great work. Sandy

Hi Sandy, Thank you for the kind words! And it was nice to meet you in person. The women I work with directly are extremely nice, and a few do know about my surgery and they are supportive without being analytical. It's the glances from random women I pass in the hallway, getting coffee, ladies room, etc. It could be that I'm just so much more aware of my surroundings, holding my head up high and not trying to hide or fade into the background. I'll have to see how that turns out. It shall be interesting!! Keep up the good work yourself, you're doing great! -Deb

My angel, Deb You inspires me alot and I have been watched you since last March. I know it is not easy to handle homework, being working mom and balance your time with work, school and family. I am in same shoe now except school. How many more weight to lose to reach your goal? I am so happy you love your new job than your old job. Hey we have to prepare to have a baby shower for Heather after holiday ? Hugs Kathy K

DID SOMEBODY SAY SHOPPING????? You know Anahid and I are always up for shopping... let me know if you want to make plans. We can go have sushi for lunch while we're out. Oh...and: Gald that you're enjoying the new job! Let me tell you- when you loose the 19 lbs, people will start commenting at your new job too. It's inevitable. 19 lbs on your smaller frame is a LOT of weight and probably a good 3 sizes. Trust me- I know of what I speak That's a really noticable loss. ~Lisa

Phyllis! I was also talking about YOU to Natasha!!! I hope you don't mind if I told her your struggle with the insurance company as she is going through the same thing right now. Maybe you two could share ideas and help each other out. I think of you often and hope we can get this shopping thing together so we can hang out. I can ask the nurse who did it what bus company she used and maybe we can do this!! See you soon! love, Cheryl

You look incredible, I thought you were at goal too! You are doing great balancing everything, especially changing jobs. I decided to drop my classes this semester, it was too much having surgery in the middle. Hopefully I will get back on track in January, but I am looking to change jobs, so we'll see.... You are doing great! Carmen

Hi Deb! It's so good to see you on the board! I was just talking about you this morning as Natasha surprised me and called me! She was telling me about going to the Middlesex Support group and seeing you and Kathy K and some others there and how wonderful you looked. I am still slowly on the mend. Today is actually a much better day as I am able to eat finally. I couldn't eat as I was so nauseous from the meds they had me on to combat the bacterial infection I picked up in the hospital. Natasha told me how connected she felt to you after you both recognized each other. Isn't this amazing how we can chat away here and then once we meet it's like we've known each other all our lives? What a powerful tool this site is and I am so grateful for it. Thank you to everyone for all the support shown to me. Please count me in on a shopping trip. I heard buses leave out of Waterbury and take you up to the outlets (the ones on the way to the Cape?) And it's only $25.00 per person and it's for the day. I don't know anything else but what do you think of that??????? LOVE TO ALL!! Cheryl
