Well, I'm 12 days post op, I go to the doctor tomorrow. I started puree today. I was getting ready to do the instant breakfast thing for lunch and felt as if I wanted more. I had 1/4 cup cottage cheeze with a little splenda and cinn. and 1/4 cup of puree turkey soup for dinner. This is the end of the turkey, thank you! Tomorrow I go the to doctor, my incisions are still leaking and for a check up. Then I have scheduled 6 one month appointments. I'll post tomorrow on the loss, my scale shows over 20 lbs. This is great, just need to do the 2 weeks of puree, the 2 weeks of soft, and then on to regular healthy high protein meals. Up to this point I've never felt "full" but I'm satisfied and really not hungry. I have not felt sick at all, and so far, all is sitting well. I need to get some sugar free pops for cravings. I need to do more research on protein powders. There is so much info out there; does anyone have one protein powder that they love?

Hi there! I use Isopure whey protein powder. It's terrific in decaf coffee, s/f hot chocolate, that sort of thing. NOT good in soups - it makes things thicker and creamier. Thus, perfect for the hot chocolate. Tammy

Hi Tammy, Thanks for the reply. Do you use the Isopure for shakes? Is one flavor better than the next? On another note, I read that you're going back to work today. We had our surgery on the same day, 11/16. I'm staying out until the 3rd week of December. I was shocked to hear your going back so soon, especially with an open RNY, mine was Lap. Did your doctor give you the OK? I don't mean to sound like a mother hen but I can't imagine going back so soon, my insides are still bruised and healing. It hasn't even been 2 weeks! I wish you luck, don't pu**** you need time to heal.

Hi Paula! I don't make shakes - and I use the unflavored. When I have time to try different recipes, I'll definately try the shakes. Right now, I'm plain Jane with my food. Yeah, Dr. Aranow said "no restrictions." He said as long as I have a desk job (which I do) back to the salt mines for me!!!! ;) He definately doesn't baby you! Thanks for your concern! Tammy

Everyone is different when it comes to powders and shakes. I personally like the Nectar shakes and Unjury. I would reccomend ordering some samples of different things and try them to see what tastes good.... So far it sounds like you are doing great! Carmen
