Hi everyone, I don't get on too often anymore - life is really crazy!  Wanted my old friends to know that I am scheduled for a revision at Brigham & Women's on 7/14.  I've put on quite a bit of weight - I have an enlarged stoma opening and a fistula.  I actually posted an update to my profile, if you are interested. Would love to hear from any old friends - or new ones.   God Bless, Kathy

Thanks for the well wishes.  Have you put back on weight?  It sounds like you were doing wonderful!  You don't mention who your original surgeon was? God Bless, Kathy B

I had Dr. Valin.  He was good.   I have gained back 15 pounds and it does scare me.  I haven't been excerising so that's not helping.  I have to get my sorry butt to the gym or run around the house.  Something.   Old habits are easy to fall back into. Koukla

Hi Kathy, I admire your persistence; did you end up getting insurance coverage for this? Best of luck, I hope that this ends up being the answer to your prayers. Research tells me that the further out we all get, the chance of our stomas being significantly enlarged to the extent the food passes right through is pretty likely. Our surgeons need to be talking to us about this, especially about the critical issue of weight regain post-surgery - we all didn't go through what we did to end up back where we started, and with compromised internal systems to boot. Please let us know what happens. All the best, Maureen
