Surgery getting close!!!
Hi Patty! Congrats on your upcoming surgery.
Honestly, there's not much to pack for the hospital. I think I had the WORST hospital bed ever made, so the extra pillow I brought helped a lot. The chapstick was a great idea too. I wore the same clothes home as I wore in. I had packed p.j.'s and wore them for one day, after I got to take a shower.
My words of wisdom are just listen to your doctor. Do everything he tells you to do - and you'll do great.
Love,
Tammy
Hi Patty,
Having just had this 13 days ago, the hospital stay is fresh. I suggest a baggy pair of sweats for the ride home. My husband picked me up with the jeans I went in with and I could not zip them. I'm 13 days post op tomorrow, and they still are not comfortable, I'm in old navy sweat pants, but down over 20 lbs. Its swelling and bloating, but everyone is different. My only other suggestion is when your able to shower, it was great to put on my own nightgown. Good luck, I had pre-op jitters pretty bad, but being almost 2 weeks out and feeling better ever day, I have no regrets.

Good luck with your surgery! I too hated the beds, you know, the $4000 bed and $30 mattress. The best thing to bring to the hospital is a good attitude, it helped me with the staff and nurses.
Chapstick is good to bring of course, I was happy that I brought my own toothpaste and toothbrush and own shampoo for my shower. Other than that, I needed nothing.
At home, your pain meds, broth, sf popsicles and water.
