HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!
Hi Everybody,
It will be my first time to not have alot of foods on my plate on Thanksgiving Day! My mom said she will find a nice small plate instead of big plate to match with other people. How nice of her to do that! I will think of this Thanksgiving as other day and will keep busy to talk alot instead of eating foods. LOL! I am going to make sugarfree gingersnap pumpkin pie tonight and three other pies for people who come my house for Thanksgiving.
Please drive careful and come back home safe if you go somewhere for Thanksgiving!
Hugs
Kathy K
Hi Kathy,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family as well as all the rest of my CT Boarders and their families and loved ones. This is the time of year that I really reflect on all that I have and this year even more so than ever. We have been given some great gifts among them better health, smaller bodies, a different way to live and many new friends in our lives. It is not an easy road, one with lots of ups and downs and even those plateaus..
:lol. But would I do it again.........absolutely. Wish I had done it years ago but I guess I would not have met all of you if that were the case. Thanksgiving last year was 2 weeks after my surgery so it was spent visiting and carving the Turkey (no one in my family can do it other than me
) and enjoying the people I was with. I didn't mind at all not eating all that food. I really wasn't interested. This year I am interested in food but just the good for me stuff. I am bringing along Susan's Marie's SF Choc. Chip Cheesecake in case I have the need for something sweet but I am concentrating on the Turkey and veggies ohhhhh and maybe some chicken soup.....yep I have to make Matzoh Ball Soup to bring.....been requested by my nieces and their friends. All in all it will be time spent with people I love what more can we ask for???
Have a great holiday everyone......
Linda

I am going to be requesting a small plate as well. I don't like large plates, they are too intimidating, lol. We aren't going far, but will be having dinner at my Sister-in-law's. We were ask to bring a fruit tray, some pickles and olives. I am also bringing a s/f pumkin custard for myself and another friend who is post-op.
I made Joanie's recipe for pumpkin cheesecake last night, but made cupcake sized. I also made Susan Marie's pumpkin roll, so I may bring some of those also.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Carmen
Happy Thanksgiving to all! We are going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving this year. I usually cook the "feast" every year but wasn't sure if I wanted to this year but am kind of upset that I am not. I love all the preparations and the smells and not having to cook for the family for days
There is always next year! I have to admit it's a little nice to just pack up the kids and go this year
Have a happy and healthy day!
Eileen

Happy Thanksgiving Kathy, my lovely angelette! And Happy Thanksgiving to ALL on the boards!
I hope you all have a happy holiday filled with family and good cheer!
I'm cooking for 12 at my house. I just LOVE to prepare Thanksgiving and to be hostess (who'd of guessed? LOL) Anyway, my menu is smaller this year than many in the past. I just can't see making a million different things. In the past we had basically a turkey and carb fest! Here's what I'm making:
Turkey with Stuffing & Cranberry Sauce
Ham with Homemade apple sauce (I canned apples last month after we went picking- yum!)
Waldorf Salad
Lemon Dill glazed carrots and peas
Potato bake (sort of like low fat, low cal au-gratin potato)
Maple Burbon glazed acorn squash
Dessert:
SF Cheesecake
SF Apple Pie
Chocolate torte (most definately NOT SF)
YUMYUM, can't wait.
