Okay Everyone, I know that some times I am and go off the deep end but I want to issue a challenge to all of you CT Boarders out there. I have noticed that we spend an awful lot of time discussing food and thinking about it.......(myself included). Now I know that eating is a normal function, something that we must do but ...........and here is the part, why does every activity have to revolve around food even when we all know that food got us to this point in our individual lives. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not slamming anyone for it I just thought it would be fun to issue a challenge. I am challenging each of you to come up with an activity for a group (small or large) that doesn't include food or stopping for a bite or bringing something etc. This is a tough one when you stop and think about it. I must make a disclaimer right now.........Peter, I claim Group Sex as my thing!!!! ......thought I would get that out of the way first Seriously though I have been reading all the messages about the great gathering on Saturday and many people mentioned not having enough time to talk to everyone they wanted to. I am not saying that we shouldn't have eaten (Heaven forbid!) but it would be great to think of other activities not just for this group's gatherings but even with a small group of family and or friends that doesn't mean you have to eat together. Well I am off my soapbox now and I look foward to your creativity.......Oh and Heather I have been thinking about your Baby Shower all day and guess what????? Yep there might not be any food there......... Linda

Group sex? Oh man, think of all the calories that would burn! LOL... Seriously, I think this is a great idea. Dancing would be a lot of fun, or maybe karaoke. Thats something I have always wanted to do but never dared. How about a softball game? I;'m up for anything. Maybe hike up Sleeping Giant? No, not you, Peter!!

Linda - I think this is a terrific idea. I vote for country line dancing! Anyone interested? It's social, yet still movement. P.S. Can I help with Heather's baby shower??? I'd love to lend a hand if I could! Love, Tammy

Hi Linda, I know Pattie D. from Old Saybrook offers to have beach party near where she lives on the beach . There will be walking by the water at the beach and maybe we can play volleyball on the beach with barefeet!!!! Let me know if you are interesting to have this then I will pass Pattie's email to you so that will be our late spring or Early summer. I agreed with you about foods but we can bring our small bags for our snacks and water so that will save our times and can meet each person at party. Let me know about Heather's baby shower and If you need any helps then email me privately . I will be happy to help to make Heather's baby shower for funs!!!! Just presents and talk and talk... no foods. The people will have to bring their own drinks as water or protien drink. Hugs Kathy K

Hearing my Italian grandmother rolling over in her grave at this suggestion LOL!! Hey, for her, there was NO love without FOOD. Please- if you stepped a TOE in her house- she WAS going to feed you. No choice! So, because of that, I'm slightly horrified at the concept of a gathering without food! You mean- we could actually get together in a place and NOT eat? Hmmmm, interesting concept. LOL. I think it's a GREAT challenge. But, I have a question- why can't we live in Florida? OK, I digress...winter stinks, but MUST LIVE WITH IT. How about ice skating? OK, that may be tough for some... A mall walk-and shop-a thon? Or- how about if we have an exercise equipment/gear swap? I've got a lot to contribute. P.S. GADS!!!!! A baby shower with NO FOOD????? OMG- I don't think it should be allowed by law OR Miss Manners. (ok,ok, I have issues) love, lisa

Great Idea Linda! I'm with you all the way! An outdoor activity gets a little trickier with weather but a walking and talking party would be fun. I am especially fond of Harkness Park in New London/Waterford. The surroundings are gorgeous. I'd be up for a shopping trip too. We could all meet at Clinton Crossing. Carolyn

I'm all over the idea!! I'd love to say something like a hike, but we would have to have different levels of ability taken into consideration, etc. Walking/shopping is ALWAYS a good idea ... could you imagine a mall being taken over by a bunch of us?? We'd need a video camera to record it -- it might qualify for a reality show! And the candle party is a good idea -- I actually have a friend who does them. The naughty nightie thing would be funny ... Tara has a contact ... we could all ask for the lingerie that hides our saggy bits! I'm up for any and all ideas ... well, group sex ... can we invite Brad Pitt? XO Kathy F.

"The naughty nightie thing would be funny ... Tara has a contact ... we could all ask for the lingerie that hides our saggy bits!" Kathy, I had to seriously go back and read that line to make sure I got it right and I didn't, lol. Great new pic, BTW. You look fantastic! Eileen

Ok here goes...I know it's winter and none of us want to exercise; so how about taking a dance class (yes I mean like line dancing like the old farts do) I'm laughing hysterically as I type this. Now as far as Karoke goes, I have a friend who does that in Providence, RI. We could go there if anyone is game. It's about 1 1/2 hr ride from New Haven straight up 95...or speaking of Providence, the Providence Place mall is awesome! I'd be game also to meet anyone at the West Have boardwalk to walk. It's pretty well populated year round...even when it's dark early. Ok any takers for my big foodless idea? JA PS Lisa, being 100% Italian, I can relate!
