I just wanted to introduce myself...My name is Donna and I am 3 weeks post-op today. I have been an OH member for a little while, and just discovered the CT mess. Board. I have posted on the main mess. board a few times. All has gone well post-op. I have an MD appt in an hour to remove the rest of the staples...I had open RNY. I am interested in any local support group meetings...I heard of one in Hamden....could someone please tell me about the dates/times...is it at the Library? (I used to live in Hamden, so I do know the area). Thanks in advance for your help!! Hope you all have a great day!! Donna T.

We're a nice bunch of people (in fact, much nicer and more supportive than you'll find on the main boards -sorry main board-) so feel free to hang out and get to know us! We'd love to know more about you! Best regards, Lisa C

Welcome Donna! There is a support group for newly post-ops (under 3 months) at St Rapheal's every other Thursday at 6pm. It's not this week, but will meet next week. They also have a monthly support group the 3rd Weds of each month at 5:45. I know there are some at Yale and Middlesex too, but I don't know when they meet. I hope this helps, Carmen

Welcome Donna! This is a great group of folks and the most supportive group you'll ever know. Dr. Bell was my surgeon, and our meetings are the first Tues. of each month at Yale. The meetings are open to ALL not just his patients. Dr. Bell is also there to answer any questions, and our nutritionist Suzanne ususally attends as well. Check the board for the exact dates. Someone ususally posts. Congrats on your surgery...may you have smooth sailing for here on in. JA
