I had rny 08/05. Seem to be keeping off the weight with a little flucuation now and then. Looks like I will be a self pay for plastics, but will try to get some covered if possible. Til now I didn't have any cash to look at getting anything done.  I will need  tt/pani, arms.  I see many of you have had good results. But where do I begin. I live in CT and I wonder if anyone has had great results with any doctors near or around the ct area?   I see some of you have gone to mexico and looks like the cost is much less so I did look at the cosmed site and asked for some info. Not sure how that works do you go down there for a consult or is it done when you go there? Any help would be greatly appreciated, along with any cost info.

Just getting home from work and to my computer thank you Marlena for replying to me. I did briefly talk to dr aranow about him doing the tt, but he said it was not cheap due to the hospital costs. I want to say in the range of 12k but that was end of last year. So I will talk to him again. I am going to check out everyone I can including Dr. Chech.  Thanks

I know Heidi had work done (my lady heidi or mi or m' I forget how it is. you can find her on the main board mostly) at Yale and they do self pay and I have heard from people that they are pretty decent in price since they are a "teaching hospital" I plan to go there if I can't get the insurance to pay. Good luck!

Thanks Kathy,  I will see if I can hunt down Heidi on the main board to see what info she can tell me about Yale and her results.  I want to stay in the states if possible so I will check out any options  thanks,

I had PS in CT.  Over at Johnson Memorial in Stafford. Plastic Surgeon I had was Colleen Jambor out of Enfield. Had a TT, Lower body lift, & lipsoction with great result. I was actually going in for a revision in April (lost more fat/gained muscle so caused sagging) However post -phoned due to some immediate medical issues. Great experience with her and Johnson was wonderful.   I was self pay.. the whole kit & kaboodle was 7 grand.  However I was able to claim it on my taxes.. so that was a plus.. didn't get much back but it was better than nothing. Dr. Jambor doesn't do arms.  She's very familiar with us WLS folks & understands our commitment to our life style etc.. Shop around... I decided to go with a PS instead of having my WLS do the TT & I'm glad I did.   If you need more info please email me. Mickey

Mickey, thank you for the info.  7K is a pretty good price I think.  I will shop around for sure before I do anything.

Hi Kathy, I'm doing better.  Went for a LOAD of blood work this week for my new Dr.  He's still concerned about low blood count etc.. some other numbers were kind of off also so he's treating me like a new patient.. which is good. No more diarria.. just the opposite now constipated & I take Miralax daily.. right back to the drawing board.. LOL..  Lost around 30 pounds.. (A plus but not the healthy way of doing it.) Eating is an issue still.. sometime****s like a rock.. sometimes goes through ok.. & others it's a barf fest.. UGH...  Dr R wants no carbs in my system at all with the exception of fruits & veggies.  That's a little hard.. I do eat organic & whole grains but with my system so compromised he says this is contributing to the diarria.. so I cut them out.. & now I'm backed up.. LOL I go back next month for a check up & go over the blood tests. He does have concerns about my pouch & a few other things he's seeing on my GI series I had done in May.. but we both decided it's best for me to "take a break" from all the procedures.. eventually another endoscope & exploratory.. probably in the fall.. so for now monitoring things. He's concerned that whatever was done to my by-pass/pouch (subject I'm not going to into on the board) that it's compromised my body's ability to absorb nutrients etc.. also thinks when they "fixed" the blockage I had from the surgery in April that it was too much with the stomach pumping etc... SOOO all that said.. I'm getting better & I feel confident that Dr. R is taking care of me & getting me back on track. Thanks for asking Kathy, Hugs, Mickey
