I was wondering what kind of reactions people have had to scallops. I know they have a good amount of protein and taste great. Im just afraid to try anything without hearing others experiences.

Fish is a hit or miss with me Matt. Depends on the mood of my pouch.. some days I can eat it like a champ.. other days  up it comes.   Moister the better.. & I can never eat it reheated either in an oven or in the microwave.. so it's a one shot wonder for me. I'm not a fan of scallops personally... same with lobster etc..  I do miss Fried Clams.. LOVE 'EM... the grease bothers me too much & the consistency doesn't sit well... So I avoid them.  Although Clam chowder doesn't bother me.. weird. I do LOVE swordfi****'s pretty dense & it's one of the few seafoods that doesn't bother me. (although the left overs I can't tolerate.) Not sure what anyone else has to say on the subject.. You won't know until you try them.. make sure they're moist and chew chew chew...  (just like the little train that could.. LOL) I wouldn't try them in a public setting until you know how they're going to settle..I still have fiasco's with eating something that doesn't settle & hitting the bathroom at a restaurant.. that is a "good time" no matter how you slice it or dice it.. gotta have a sense of humor. Let us know how you make out. Mickey

Hello Matt---scallops remains one of my favorite foods...although I too never eat the "fried" anything...the Chowder Pot, at least in Branford, will bake you an order of scallops light on the butter with no breading.....YUMMY!  HOWEVER..like Mickey...fish and I get along only when my belly wants us too! I don't know if you are eating sweet potatoes...but they are a high protein DELIGHT! Hoping your question means you are feeling better???

Sweet Potatoes are YUMMY... I make sweet potatoe fries in the oven to die for.. Very good for you in vitamins.   They are nature's "candy"  when I have a sweet tooth they help curb them.. Right now I can't have carbs since my stomach is still recovering.. Sweet Potatoes.. for president! I actually had them with a piece of Salmon last week.. just a few bites.. to die for.. YUM Mickey

Matt,
I'm an all around seafood lover. The small bay scallops are to tough and stringy for me, they did'nt sit well at all.
However the larger sea scallops were moist and tender and sat very well with me.
ENJOY!

God, I love seafood- flakey fish sits well- lobster is dense and a bit tough and doesnt sit well- I LOVE scallops- if they are super tender, I can get a few down.  You are right- they have alot of protein!

I get scallops and bake them...I make a mixture of lemon juice and a bit of melted butter (1/4 cup each, not too much) with some granulated garlic and parsley, put the scallops into a baking dish lined with foil (I love the Reynolds release no stick foil)  long enough to come up over the sides and can be folded into a pouch, and pour the juice mixture over the top, I then take a bit of breadcrumbs and sprinkle them over the top...fold the foil together and bake for about 15-20 minutes...check them, if there's too much liquid, take some out.... Hubby and I both had RNY, and we like this dish a lot.  Lots of protein and they fill us up pretty well.  Nice veggie on the side also helps fill us up. I personally love all shell fish...regular fish I can do without, unless it's a mild white fish.  Shrimp and lobster are my faves...mostly shrimp, though.  I get a great shrimp w/ pea pods and baby corn at a chinese rest. in So. Windsor that is just great..not greasy at all and a great portion. Paula
