I did it!!!
Hi, all!
I had my follow-up appointment with Elina (dietician) on Thursday and when she weighed me, I had lost EXACTLY 10 pounds! Since it's about to be "that time of the month", I'm retaining fluid and the needle on my scale had suddenly jumped up after the weekend, so I wasn't sure I'd make that goal. Now I just have to not gain any of it back before surgery.
Elina checked my file and the reports from both Kim Daniels (psychologist) and the cardiologist weren't there. I saw both of them a little over two weeks ago, so the reports should have been there. I don't know if they're sitting in a box of papers waiting to be filed (thanks to Dr. A's office having just moved to a new location) or if they haven't even made their way to his office yet. Lois wasn't in the office Thursday afternoon, so Elina suggested that I call her Friday morning and discuss the missing reports with her. Maybe she can quickly locate them or I might have to call both Kim and the cardiologist and have them fax their reports to Dr. A again. After the reports somehow get into my file, Dr. A has to review it and then Lois can contact Healthnet for approval. I'm hoping for a date between Christmas and New Year's. Dr. A's going to be away the week before and I don't expect that everything could come together any sooner. Also, like Kathy K., I'd rather not have surgery just before Dr. A goes out of town. I'd rather have him be in town, just in case... I don't even care about not going out New Year's Eve; having the surgery behind me and starting 2005 with a "new" body would be the best way to celebrate.

Hi Debby,
I want to jump up and down with you !!!
Congrats for lose 10 pounds!!! I hate that when they lost your files or misplaced anywhere after they moved to new office. You are clever to call both of doctors to fax them as soon as possible better than nothing! I would love to visit you at hospital and support you! I laughed myself when you said about Dr Aranow to make sure he is in town. I don t blame you and It makes us feel more safer to know he will be there in case if we have any problems after surgery who knows! But I know Dr Aranow did a great job on this surgery. I am going to see him today for my 4 weeks check up and hopefully he can move up to stage 5 !
Let me know when is your big day!! SMILE!
See you tomrorow and I will give you big hug and jump up and down LOL
Hugs
Kathy K
