Lap RNY Yipee!!
I am on my way!!! Seminar done and first meeting with sureon done...man is nice and sharp as a tack...loads of experience with LAP procedures and a straight shooter...Today I have had Chest X Ray, bloodwork, and an ultrasound on my carotids because he tought he heard a bruer.....thankfully the ultrasound tech kinda slipped up on the way out and asked me if I had the test before and I said yes, and she said "Oh..it was OK then too?" whew! IT was a slip on her part..but one that eased my anxiety a lot...the rest of the tests... no knews is good news...now I have to call and make appointment with a cardiologist, shrink, nutritionist and get PCP to write a referral letter and ship all my stuff...then I am good to go with submital.... I also have to attend 2 of his support groups before he will do surgery. Doc says I am an EXCELLENT candidate...and I feel good about surgery at Hartford Hospital...everything is state of the art...have quit smoking...he won't do procedure if I don't...says why do surgery for number 2 killer..
obesity...if we don't stop number 1 killer..smoking. The welbutrin is working...now please God let my chest xray be ok...(gulp)....
So...I am among the first 100 cases in a new program...I feel good about that...the thing is just getting off the ground so they will be SURE to be careful...can't afford bad press...lol...Doc T has extensive surgical and lap RNY experience...( he does nothing but lap rny's,,,can convert if he gets in and can't fix something with lap..but he will not do straight out opens..)so..here I go....if all goes well..probably looking at January...PLease pray for good test results!!! Thanks for reading my endless prattling!!!
Hugs to all,
