Has anyone had difficulty with having CTCARE cover the procedures? I also have federal bs?

Jeanne: I had CTCare cover my surgery without a whisper of a problem . . . except that they apparently don't like to pay the doctors after they're done (or wait a very long time.) My surgeons ended up dumping them for that reason. But, again, I had no problem at all getting approval.

Dear Jeanne: I am not sure about CT Care but I would try the Federal BC. I have BCBS Century Preferred and was just approved after my appeal for the Lap-Band. They cover the gastric bypass on your application if you have all the paperwork. Who is your doctor? Debbie M

I have connecticare and was approved within 24 hours. I have heard many people that have connecticare say the same thing. I don't know which procedure you are interested in but Connecticare is really good at approving the band. HTH Eileen

I have CT Care. They have been just great through the entire process. My whole out of pocket, including every pre-op test I had was $250 plus 3 office co-pays. They approved my open RNY w/ Dr. Aranow in 24 hours. I've yet to hear anyone complain about not getting approval from CT Care. And I've been around here for a while... best, lisa c
