Doctor is working with me

Hey guys! As most of you know, I ran into a little hurdle called insurance last week. They stated that as of 1/1/2005, no WLS would be covered, no exceptions. So, I called Lois @ Dr. A's office and cried... (I am sure she was happy about that). She then told me that if I had been seeing my PCP for 6 consecutive months, there may be a way to get me in before the end of the year while it is still a covered procedure. Well! I went to my PCP on Thursday and everything is good, health wise. SHE asked me about surgery and how things were going with it. I told her about my insurance and the predicament.... so, she wrote up her notes from the first visit in May and faxed them on over to DR. A with a greatly worded Letter of Medical necessity. Now the hard part... waiting for insurance to decide. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! Beckie

If it's any consolation it took me 8 months to get approval with CIGNA POS. I had to do a 6-month doctor supervised diet. My surgery is tomorrow. Hang in there and keep a positive outlook.

Hi Beckie: Hang in there, I was denied by my insurance after my application. My doctor's office worked with me and I was just approved. BCBS will not be covering the surgery after 1/1/05. I will also say a prayer for you. Deb M.
