OT: digital camera questions?????
Hi Cheryl,
I don't know much about the technology side, but I have a Cannon Power Shot A75 and it takes great pictures. Right now, I believe that one is around 175. at Staples. They also have newer models up to A90 at a higher price and I'm sure they take great pictures as well. I think for the money, the pictures are excellent quality. I find it very simple to use as well.

I can let you know what I have experienced. DO NOT buy a Nikon. I have one and it had a problem while under warranty, they fixed it, then right after the warranty ran out, the same problem happened again, this time at my cost. I wrote them a letter to complain and never heard back from them. It also has a slight delay when you compress the button to take pics. Not good.
Get one someplace where you can ask questions and play with it. More than 2.1 megapixels, some are up to 6 now. Something easy to use with lots of low light capabilities. Make sure it comes with the battery and a battery charger or find one that takes regular batteries. The ones that have the little compact disk instead of the little disks are neat too. It depends on how much you want to spend.
I agree with Maggie..the Cannon Powershot is awesome. My friend has the 2 megapixel version...and loves it. My brother has the A75-3.2 megapixel and is very happy with his. I bought the A 85 a 4 megapixel...and I paid 250.00 for mine. They are easy to use and sturdy. I have owned four digitals in four yrs..and this is the best one. Stay away from HP!
Hope this helps Cheryl.
Hugs,
Joanie
I am with Maggie and Joanie. I have the Cannon Powershot -- mine is the S1 IS --- 3.2 MegaPixels. It's PHENOMENAL! Cost me a gazillion dollahs, but worth every penny!
