Home from Hospital

Hi Everyone! I am home and SO glad to be back. If I had to deal with another moment of my "roommate", I think I would have been moved to a different floor with the padded rooms! At work on Saturday, I started getting pain in my back, behind my left lung, a familiar feeling to me. I shrugged it off until gradually, I started getting abdominal cramps to the point of not being able to walk, it hurting when I breathe and passing out from the pain. I went to Bridgeport Hospital thinking it might be a twisted intestine and I didn't want to mess around with that. Generally, I am the person that will WAIT til I am near death to go to the ER for anything. Well, I KNEW something was wrong, so I passed go, I collected my $200 and I went! The people in the ER were amazing. I was attended to right away. While there, I developed a fever that kept creeping up. You've read that in Ed's post. The highest it seemed to get was 103.8 - high enough to scare the bejeezus outta me, I'll have you know! Well, after 3 days in the hospital, they never really did figure out what the problem is, but I did get a lot of stories. At first, they thought it was my appendix, then they thought it was an intestine or bowel obstruction, then they think they see that my IUD is infected on the CT Scan, then they see fibroids all around. I had a lot of trouble and pain when breathing, but apparently, my lungs were pretty clear. Are they looking at the right film? *shrugs* In any case, I ended up just getting better with a lot of IV Fluids and NO FOOD. I though, "Eh - I won't get hungry, no big deal." Ha! BS! I was ready to eat anything that stopped long enough to be caught. Dr. Tran's bariatric support meeting was Monday night while I was there. I asked my nurse if I could go. She said she needed to contact one of the doctors to see if I can leave the floor. Well, the wicked woman never got an answer and I missed the meeting! How pissed was I? I wouldn't even have had my parking validated! Dr. Tran was incredible. I am serious - to any pre-ops that are getting to know different surgeons right now, please go to one of his support meetings, go meet him, call, write, do something. He is INCREDIBLE. He came to visit me several times a day and took wonderful care of me, even when it was thought my problems might not be WLS related at all. I give him 2 thumbs up, a snap with a twist and a cherry on top. Not kidding! Alright, so there ya have it! Oh get this - I come home from the hospital and my car that has been parked on my (one-way) street since I went into the hospital, wa**** Yip - someone whacked the car, crunched the front fender and didn't even leave a love letter. Bastids. Welcome home sucka! Have a great day - thank you sooooo much for all of the posts with your thoughts and prayers. All of you are amazing to me! I love every last one of you. AND - I will see you on the 20th!!! Love and Blessings, Tara

*hugs* Thank you Tammy. Yes, I am feeling much better - like I was never sick. Solid food is a problem though. I can't eat much and everything is making me want to vomit. Just plain nauseas. Other than that, feeling A-Okay! Thanks so much!!
