Ok this may sound nasty but I need help. I am over everything in regards to sinus infection which was not a sinus infection at all but post nasal drip but I have to keep clearing my throat because of mucus and phlegm, it could be because of allergies which I am thinking but it also may be because my wisdom teeth are coming in. I know it sounds weird but that can cause mucus. I am currently taking flonase and robitussin but if anyone knows of any remedy it would help. This should not prevent me from surgery I am just asking because it is annoying to clear throat every 5 seconds. '' Thanks All, Toya

Funny, I have the same thing right now... My recommendation? A lot of hot clear liquids...and a talk with your surgeon? Really, see what the surgeon says you can take. It would not be worth messing up your surgery for this. Herbal tea, sipped warm (epecially mint tea) helps a lot with throat soreness and congestion...so maybe.... good luck! & please let us know what your surgeon's office says...I'm curious. best, Lisa C

Thanks Lisa, It is just my sinuses/allergies. I was already told by the ENT that if I keep having problems my large tonsils will have to be removed. I am hoping it does not even come to that lol. thanks for advice though.

Toya- I used to get this type of thing every yr and found out it was allergies. I was put on Allegra along with flonaise and voila--no more drip! Call your PCP and see if he will prescribe it over the phone...since you are on flonaise they shouldn't give you a problem with an allergy med. Joanie

Thanks Joanie, I will call my Ear nose and throat doctor tomorrow to see if he will prescribe some Allegra.

Thanks all for the advice. I went to target to pick up a vaporizer which by the way is on sale for $8.99 if you need one. I spoke with the pharmacist there and she says the best thing to do is take robutussin which contains guafenesin and it will help bring up the phlegm. She states the reason for the mucus and phlegm is it means you are getting over it. She said I should be fine in a couple of days. Also she said drink lots of liquid which helps speed up the process. I think it will also help that my last day of work is Thursday and my office is like sick o rama because I was fine when I was home this weekend but as soon as I stepped into work I started this stage. I am not congested, coughing or anything like that. My problem was just the mucus.
