Hello Ladies and Gentlemen: I have been out of the loop for the last week or so and just wanted to say hi and give an update. I was on vacation from my full time job last week and co-chaired a fundraiser, Noel Boutique, for the an organization I belong to and haven't been online in what feels like forever. I am just finally catching up on a week full of posts and alot has happened to you guys! Congrats to all those who have gotten dates and to those who are in surgery today. You are all in my prayers. I got to meet Lauren M. and Cheryl S. at the boutique and I was thrilled to meet both of them. Everytime I meet anyone from this board I feel such a connection with them, its surreal! As far as my journey goes, I am at a small standstill with my insurance company. I have been denied and now I am in the process of trying to get the written exclusion off my policy. My HR woman is helping with that. If that doesn't turn out the way I am hoping, I have consulted an attorney already and am prepared to hire him if need be. It is very disheartening, but I am trying to keep positive. Will I see anyone at Dr. Gile's support group meeting tonight? Hope all else is well with everyone and I am looking forward to the 20th!! Phylllis

I am sorry to hear about your insurance troubles. Hopefully you will be able to get approval without an attorney, but if you need one by all means!! You deserve a better life. I look forward to meeting you on the 20th! Carmen

Phyllis It was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for the tickets. Im sorry I couldnt spend more time with you to chat, my mother has never been the patient kind of person. Always rushing me through anything that I enjoy. I try to spend time with her doing things she enjoys too, but even those things she rushes through. I cant win. I would have loved to have talked for a while about the league. (I grew up in New Britain). I enjoyed it, spent a little too much money but thats ok I got something for myself that I can only wear if Im skinny. Its my wls present for next summer. I was really sorry to hear that night that you got denied. That just plain sucks big time. I will pray for things to work out for you. Are you going to the dinner on the 20th? We could chat then. Good luck, keep us informed on whats going on. I agree it is surreal meeting people from in here. Hugs Lauren

Hi Phyllis! Sorry I missed the support group meeting. I am really feeling lousy with this head cold from hell. I am having my ultra sound tomorrow to verify this gallstone of mine. Then I'll find out what's next. Did you guys talk about the Christmas party? What are we doing? I LOVED meeting you, and felt that instant connection that seems to happen with only us! We are a unique group of people in a sense that we are going to these doctors to ease a pain that is both physical AND mental and it has been for many of us life long. They are just fixing a broken leg or putting us on yet another "diet" this is a life change and I wish all of them would get that. I think Dr. Giles really does, he needs staff to surround him that does to ensure his programs success. This is not a procedure, but a life long program. Am I preaching??? I just get fired up when people take this surgery lightly and don't see what we are going through to get there. You are a perfect example of that. Don't give up, keep battling and you will win! We NB Girls have to stick together!!! love, Cheryl

So, what happened at the ultra sound???? We are having a Christmas party in Dec and any staff that he has hired, he will invite so that we can meet them. He wasn't shy about telling us how disappointed he has been with his staff now either.

I'm not surprised to hear he said that. They aren't dedicated to the program, that's why. I found out I have a few stones, so now I wait to hear from the surgeon. Always a surgeon involved in my life!!!! love ya Cheryl

Hi Phyllis, I' m so glad to hear from you and get an update. I can't wait to see you on Saturday! We will really be able to catch up then and meet a bunch of new people from the Board. You need to stay optimistic because I know everyone is praying their hearts out for you! Your time will come soon. I will also be going on the 20th so that will be fun too. Love, Sandy
