Just saw this on the main board and thought I would post for those that missed it. The doctor that was on Dateline posted to the main board to give his side of the story. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/messageboard/postdetail/842372.html?vc=0 Heidi

Thanks Heidi, I was interested to see his reply and I have alot of respect for his honesty. I wish Dateline had showed more positive information on the surgery. It is not an easy fix in fact I think it was easier before the surgery. But even with all the extra work and life changes I would do it again in a heart beat. Love and laughter, Kim

Heidi -- Hope you'll be reading this in a few short days when you're home & recouperating. It was interesting. I'm one of those lucky few who also got a leak. It was not a fun experience -- in my case they went in & fixed the leak when, after 2 days of massive antibiotics, my levels were still awful. I'm glad they did what they did in my case! Watching the part of the show about the man who died was very upsetting & brought it all back to me -- one year & one day after my surgery! I count myself lucky that I made it to the losers' side successfully. Thanks for the info! Kathy F.
