On my way

I had an appointment with Dr. Aranow on Nov. 12 but yesterday I got a call from his office at 10 AM telling me they had a canellation and wanted to know if I could make it for a 2:00 appt. I told them I didn't have any of my paperwork filled out but I would take the appt. I left work at 11 AM, went home filled out all the paperwork. I was so excited. Went in to see the Dr. (what a nice person) we talked, he told me I have nice hand writing, he took a picture it was short and to the point and then I made an appt. with the dietian for Dec. 3 and Psych appt is Nov. 23. I am hoping that I can get this all done before Dec. 31 because Athem BC is not going to cover WLS as of Jan. 1, 2005 and that is a fact. Do you think the surgery can happen before the cut off date? Hi Cindy Dr Aranow is an excellent doctor and you are in good hands !! I am alos Dr Aranow's patient too. I cannot answer about insurance after Jan 1St. but hope not!!!!!! ASk me any questions about your future processing. Good Luck! Kathy K

Hi Cindy, You must have had the appointment just before me yesterday. I was originally not scheduled until Dec. 17, but got a call about a cancellation at 2:30, so I grabbed it.Just like your meeting, mine was short and to the point. The only thing I now need to think about is whether I want to go the open rny route or the lap band. I went in thinking open rny, but he pointed out that I was ideal candidate for the lap band.Something to ponder.... I made my appointments for nutrition consult and gall bladder ultra sound,and will schedule psych consult tomorrow.That is all he is requiring so hopefully things will move right along.Now this all seems much more of a reality, and I can not wait!!!
