Dr. Phil's show

So what are everyone's thoughts on his show today? I did not think it was too informative, but he did cover that the surgery is not for everyone. That it is not an easy fix and that some or most of us still have food issues afterwards (I will find out in less than a month). I think that was the point he was driving at. I think the guy who wants to have it done is kind of clueless. Carnie Wilson was great, did she tell him or what? As an afterthought, I thought someone had mentioned that she may be pregnant. If I am not mistaken, it was Chyna and Wendy that were visibly with buns in the oven!

I can't believe I taped Sesame Street instead of Dr. Phil. I was so mad when I got home today to sit down and watch it. What did Carnie say to Dr. Phil? Glad to hear that she is pg! Terri

I did not see the show, but I did read Dr. Phil's website which had an overview of the show...and it was as I expected...since he is a disciple of Oprah, who has made her feelings on WLS well known (according to one of her past episodes, all WLS patients have bad body odor, horrible gas, many complications and just lack will power to lose the weight ourselves.)Of course, I personally don't have Oprah's money in order to hire a trainer, a chef with an unlimited food budget to buy all THE BEST foods...plus I have to feed a family of 4 and 2 dogs...but, I digress. LOL Since Dr. Phil is an "Oprah" disciple, of course his views on WLS will be the same as hers...too drastic and we're just too lazy. I've thought for a long time that Dr. Phil was an over opinionated egomaniac and I still believe that. I think it stinks that he didn't ask more "regular" people to be on his show...of course, if he showed some happy, healthy post op people, then he wouldn't be able to sell his book on weight loss. Just my opinion... Have a Sparkling Day!! ~CAE~ 11/16/01 Dr. E. Valin St. Ray's 245/140(at time of tummy tuck),/120 So, take THAT Dr. Phil LOL

I thought the show was OK, but missed the end. I thought Carnie Wilson had the Lap-band and not the gastric bypass though! Even the girl who was afraid of gaining back said she is glad she did it. I do wish he had more people on who have had success, and could say how great this is (with the right support of course). There was no mention of success rates and such.... Carmen
