Roll Call
Hello Everyone,
Well since we do turn the clocks back this weekend I thought we could use that extra hour ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/lol.gif)
![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/lol.gif)
to check in here and let everyone know what's up with us. This is such an active and great message board that it is hard to keep up with everyone.
I know I haven't been on the boards much lately but life has gotten in the way. Work is crazy, lots of changes coming down the pike. I did something to my back last week so I haven't been to the gym much
. I did go to the doctor on Tues because I also seem to have a UTI and I was not sure if maybe the back thing was related as in possible kidney stone.........am still not a hundred percent sure but I finally came home early yesterday and did rest my back. We shall see how it goes today. Unfortunately I have been on a ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/angry.gif)
plateau since August!!!!! I know that this too shall pass but I have been more than patient.....
LOL:
. I am getting ready to go to CANCUN next Saturday. I will be celebrating my 1 year anniverary there ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/jump.gif)
![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/jump.gif)
. It has been a great year with tons of changes in my life, all for the better..........hey I just had a thought.......maybe my backache is from all the hanging skin?????? hmmmm that would be something to document.
Well gots to run.......Take care one and all. Can't wait to see lots of you on Nov. 20th. Make sure you have your reservations in. Good luck to all in your upcoming surgeries and may you have patience and peace with your decisions.
Linda

Hi Linda,
I'm sorry about your back. Back pain is the absolute worst! Hope you are feeling better. And good luck with that plateau, just keep plugging away!
I met Dr. Bell personally finally yesterday, a nice man, but he seemed a bit rushed, must have been a busy day for him, I know that there were others waiting to see him after me! It was a long day at the hospital waiting to see the anesthesiologist during pre-op testing. I also had a bad experience with a nurse who took my blood and did an EKG, I felt that I was inconveniencing her. I hate that! But it's over and done with now. Yah!
Now I just go for surgery.
This weekend is busy, Apple Festival in Salem tomorrow morning (my dauther and I love going to that) and working at the Fitch Band Competition on Sat. evening. Should be serving food after 6pm if anyone is there.
Sunday is our wedding anniversary, but if I don't make plans, there will be no celebrating. I don't make plans anymore, tired of doing it all the time. So I guess there won't be any celebrating. Trick or Treating in the evening, so will be handing out candy to the cuties with my SIL at her house. It's so much fun.
Everyone have a good weekend!
Pam

Looks like we're the early birds today!
I do hope your back feels better in the coming days. Back trouble is something you can't understand until you have it -- I had a car accident many moons ago that resulted in 2 herniated disks. Having less weight is a BIG help, but it never goes away. And I HOPE it's not a kidney stone ... yikes!! Could you ask the dr. to do an x-ray to make sure? I had one of those several months before the surgery. Not fun!!!!!
Work is busy but good -- I prefer it that way. John and I are doing okay -- I'm spending too much money on getting a new fall/winter wardrobe which is driving him a little nuts, but he also knows that I have NOTHING to wear since this time last year I was just under 100 lbs. bigger than I am now! I LOVE to shop -- my other big downfall. But I've done okay by shopping at TJ Maxx/Marshall's & I went to the new Target in Stamford -- never wanted to leave!!! I love Target. Prices are great & they have nice, attractive stuff.
Anywho, the weekend is going to be fun ... I hope. As always during the fall, I'm going to watch Fairfield Prep play football tonight since John coaches. My best friend is moving back from Virginia (yay!!) and is up here alone so she's going to join me, then we'll probably go out for a beverage.
Saturday night we're babysitting my friend's kids again since they have a wedding -- we're taking them to Ringling Bros' Barnum & Bailey Circus as it's right in Bridgeport this weekend. Of course, we'll have to keep a flippin' leash on the 3-year-old to keep him from running up & trying to be a lion tamer! It should be a lot of fun. As much of a handful as the 3-year-old is (his name is DJ -- John and I prefer to call him "birth control"...), it's so much fun to see things through the eyes of a young child. Everything is so new & exciting & full of wonder. Sunday we're just going to do stuff around the house.
I was on a BIG plateau from August - October, then started using FitDay & had a big wake-up call as to what I was eating. So I've cut back & gone back to the gym, though not as much as I should, and I've lost 4 lbs. in the last 2 weeks. Yay!! I realized I now weigh less than I did when I was a senior in high school -- 26 years ago! I guess I can pat myself on the back for that, and try to forget the plastic surgeon picture-taking incident ... ugh!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
Love & kisses --
Kathy F.
Hi everyone!
I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Not too much planned, so it's wonderful. The kids asked me tonight what we were doing and I said NOTHING!!! They were so happy to have a night off! Tomorrow is a bday party for my hubby at a local chinese restaurant, and Sunday is trick or treating with the kiddies.
I can't help but wonder how I'm going to feel as a smaller person. It does consume my thoughts lately. I've never been a healthy weight (well maybe in 4th grade, but that's basically it) and I honestly have just fantasized about how it would feel to shop in a normal sized store, or walk down the road and not feel like I stick out like I do. I guess I'm real scared about the pain too, but mostly, I'm excited for this new lease on life.
Linda - I hope you start feeling better soon!
Lots of love!

I am no where near my goal...but I am starting to feel like a normal person. Last night I dropped my daughter off at soccer practice in Hamden...wasn't going to go home for an hour, so I went to Applebees by myself! In the past I would have neve done that before. I sat down...and its the weirdest thing. No one noticed me!
I ordered a grilled chicken salad... The waiter kept asking me if I wanted something to drink! Its so funny... I ate in 20 min once my meal came and he walked by and I asked for the check... He asked if there was something wrong with the salad since it hardly looked like I had eaten! I said..it was delicious...could he wrap it up.
It just felt good...I felt like a different person! Just thougth I would share!
Hugs
Joanie

Not as much of an issue now since I eat more now, but you see the looks on the servers' faces, thinking you hated your meal. I have to assure them that it was fine, often having it wrapped up for later. I still come home with a doggie bag from every dinner unless I just order an appetizer. Who ever woulda thought we'd be seen as eating too little?!??
Happy Friday!
Kathy
Hi, Joanie!
The next time you drop off your daughter in Hamden and don't have any errands you need to run, let me know and we can plan to meet for a quick bite or some shopping while you wait for her. I live right near the high school (and Applebee's), so it's not like I'd be driving far for a short visit. Just call me before so I can let you know if I'm working that evening or not.
Hugs,
Debby
