Momentum Bars

I hear everyone talking about these protein bars. I went out and bought one and can't wait to try it but I have been afraid to because it says 11 g of sugar alcohol. What is sugar alcohol? It also lists sugar grams on the label. Does anyone know the difference between sugar and sugar alcohol? Linnie
