Update on Me

Just wanted to drop a quick post to let you all know I'm alive and well. I have not been doing to much posting due to the extreme pain I have been having in my back. My Dr. wanted to do a MRI, but the insurance company won't approve it until I do a round of physical therapy. No one thinks that it is going to help, but I have to do what I have to do. I also started a little job in town which is just perfect for me. I can work from home a lot and it's part time. I love my boss who is so good to me. She manages several properties in the city and needed someone to do the office work for her. So, my office is in her house which means no dress code. When it is slow, there is a TV in there to watch. Seems to good to be true. I have to say it feels great to be back to work after a year off. It really does a lot for my slef esteem. As far as my WLS progress goes, I am plateauing. I'm not upset about this as I am just never hungry due to my pain, so I am living on protein shakes and bars. Nothing at all sounds good to me, but I know I need my protein and vitamins. I tried to go to Mt. Snow VT this weekend for Mary Kay training, but had to come home last night. I couldn't get comfortable at all in the conference chairs. I was unable to sit for that long of a time period even with the pain meds. It was fun while it lasted and I enjoyed what I was able to do. If you don't see me posting a lot on here, please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. I try to get on here once a day. Sorry for the long rambling.. Maggie

Maggie, I highly recommend the Norwich Orthopedic Group...and they have PT services on Case Street. They have been so helpful to me to help me deal with my back problems. As a matter of fact, I'm going back to Norwich Ortho tomorrow to have them look at my knee. Hopefully, a little orthoscopic scraping of loose cartilage, a round of physical therapy and I'll be good to go! Dr. Panaenessa (Sp?) is the BEST around. If you haven't gone to an orthopedist...check them out! Best wishes on getting help with this! Ann

Thanks for the tip Ann. I was going to go to L&M, but maybe I'll check out the Norwich group. Hope your knee is better soon. Maggie

Maggie, So sorry you are in so much pain. Luckily you were able to get home from VT. I am sure the car is not the most comfortable place to be. I don't understand insurance companies, never will. Hope you make it through the PT without injuring yourself further. Post when you can to let us know how you are. Feel better soon - Nancy

Thank you Nancy for your kind words. The car was not the best place to be. Luckily I have a friend who lives in Mass. so I was able to drive there, rest for the night and then come home yesterday. Maggie

Me to Carmen. This has been going on for about seven weeks now. I'm going to call the insurance co. today and see if I can get it approved. Seems ridiculous for them to pay for both, but who am I? Thanks for your offer to help. I hope we are able to meet sometime soon as we live in the same town. Maggie

Maggie, Thanks for the update. Its a sad world when an ins co dictates you plan of care and not your PCP. Hope you can get pain free soon. Joanie
