I am pursuing lap band surgery, insurance changing as of 1/1/05 to Connecticare. Anyone have any experience with them?

Call your surgeon's office and ask them. BTE, Aetna as of 1/1/05 will now require a 50% co-pay on WLS. This was an employee at the last Middlesex Hospital group meeting. Peter

If you check Dr Aranoow's information, ther is a link of someone who had AGB with connecticare as their insurance carrier. Peter

From what I have heard, Conneticare is one of the better insurers regarding WLS. I would call your surgeons office and ask their experience w/ them though! Carmen

Lap Band on 08/18/04 with
Hi Jennifer, I had lap band surgery with Connecticare. I was approved in less than 24 hours. My husband and I actually switched our insurance to Ctcare because they are really good when it comes to approving the band. Have you ever been to Dr. Barba's lap band support group? I am a patient of Dr. Aranow but have been to Dr. Barba's support group. It is wonderful. Eileen
