I HAVE A DATE

Hi to all, I met with Dr Giovanni yesterday, got clearance from all consultations and from Dr Barba. Saw Rosemary on the way out and she said they will call in about a week. Well 10:00 this morning she called and gave me my date. I COULDN"T BELIEVE IT!!!! January 6th!!!! After all this time it has finally come together. All the emotions, ups and downs, EVERYTHING and now such good, happy and exciting news!!! Of course this is all tentative waiting for insurance approval. I have Aetna. Can anyone tell me what they are like in regards to approval process. Rosemary said they will not even submit it for weeks since it is a January date. Worse case they say no and we appeal. It will happen.... Carrie!!!!

Hi Carrie Congrats!!! I'm so happy for you! I was also ok'd for surgery by Dr. Barba on Friday (Oct 21) and they said they will call me next week for a January surgery! I don't have aetna so I can't help ya there... I have Oxford.

Congratulations Carrie! Finaly getting a date must be so exciting! As for Aetna, I haven't heard too many good things, but hopefully you won't have any problems. You might want to call and find out their requirements for WLS (diet history, medically supervised diets etc.). Good luck w/ insurance though! Carmen
