Any advice? My surgery date is Nov. 15th.Also, When will I be able to drive

Carolyn, Dr A. says you can drive as soon as you are off pain meds and feel comfortable enough if you had to stop short. I was driving in a week and a half. Glad to hear your date! Are you going to have an early Thanksgiving? terri

Carrie, I did not get weighed before surgery. The only time I was weighed was when I made my weight. I expected to get weighed, but Dr A. just asked me if I had lost anymore and I said I think a couple of more pounds, but wasn't sure if it was accurate and off I went to the O/R. I have heard from some people that they were weighed though, I don't know why some get weighed and some don't. Terri

I drove one week post-op with no trouble at all. Was on no pain medications at the time either. I think I will look at one of the old BB groups to see what they recommend and email it to you when i have a few minutes. Guess you won't be at the party on the 20th, huh Peter

Hey! Thank you for your help!!!!!!!! I'll be home from the hospital then...I wish I could go but..if I was able to go anywhere...it would be to my son's league tournament basketball game on the 20th here in town...Middletown is about 1 1/2 hours from my home. Thank you though!!!

After I got a date of Nov. 18, I decided to have an early Thanksgiving dinner on the 14th with some close friends and relatives. They were very understanding, and so was my family. We have a lot to be thankful for that day.

I was given the official OK to drive to my first appt, at 12 days, however I did drive at 1 week, I just made sure I didn't go to far, and took my time (not speeding over bumps). I also made sure I was not taking any pain meds! Carmen
