Home... For now
Hi Gang,
I have an appt with Dr Raft. on Wednesday & my GI series Thursday at the hospital. His office also mentioned another C-Scan?
The problem is the GI series doesn't show anything "significant" but when a C-Scan is done it shows blockage etc.... weird?
I feel "better" emotionally knowing another Dr is looking at me and taking things seriously.
Went for a walk today on our local walking trail that cheered my spirits up a little also. It's a pretty day out.
So looking forward to Wednesday meeting Dr. R and hearing what he says and his concerns. Hopefully I'll have some answers end of the week beginning of next.
I'm happy he's willing to sit with me & probably take me on as his patient. Usually Dr's don't like fixing other Dr's messes so I'm hoping I can make a connection with him quickly.

Hi Gang,
I go today to the new Dr. I'm having some MAJOR pain on my left side towards where the incision/gall bladder was... I have fluid build up.. however it was sooo bad.. it was radiating from my front to the middle of my back/shoulders & up to my neck. Not sure what the heck is going on there.
Looking forward to hopefully a new direction with my health.
Keep wanting to "pass out" periodically not sure if it's blood pressure or low blood count or what at this point. Things go "black" in my vision & I almost hit the floor on occasion.. awful feeling.
I go for my GI series tomorrow. Have to fast from foods today.. (not that it's been a problem scared to eat anyways.)
A "nurse" from my insurance called me last night very concerned that after 3 trips to the hospital I'm still not any better... I think the Insurance is more looking for away of "not covering" my bills. She's offered to get involved on my behalf in necessary... that's interesting...
I'll let ya'll know how I make out today.
Hugs,
Mickey
Hi Gang,
Nope not in the hospital.. had a 2 hour meeting with Dr. R yesterday. Very productive & he put me on a bunch of meds.
I've lost 25 pounds under 3 weeks. He's concerned that whatever took place "internally" with whatever Dr B did is affecting my absorbtion.
I left a message to have Dr B call me asap as I have a list of questions for him & I doubt I'll get clear answers at this point in time. (or truthful) based on the copy I have of his report on the surgery.
I go for my GI upper/lower today at 11am & Dr R should have the results this afternoon.
Let's just say my eyes were open to some things that Dr B did or did not do on his reporting of what took place on the initial operation 3 weeks ago. I don't want to bash another Dr... but officially I'll be done with Dr B.
Dr R is concerned as to what direction to go with me as he is UNCLEAR based on the reporting exactly what Dr B did to me. (that is scary) So clean slate with the GI series today to hopefully get
things moving in a positive direction.
My blood pressure was terrible 90/60's. Dr R wants me to shove in as much protein shakes as I can stand to get my strength up. Along with the regiment of meds he gave me.
I left the hospital with NOTHING except percacet for pain.
I walked away more educated in the 2 hour session than I have in the 3 years of living post WLS. Amazing.
He also gave me a list of things to ask & have the tech's look for during today's test.
Dr R is a straight shooter.. definately not "warm & fuzzy" however LOVED his no nonsense approach & caring/concern that he has given me so far. That's what I need.
Stay tuned,
Mickey
Yeah that's pretty scary that another surgeon doesnt know what was done! I'm glad you liked him....and I bet you will find that he was probably pissed off at Dr. B but couldn't really express that to you, so it came across a little different than he would under normal cir****tances...although...I've read a couple people saying he isn't warm and fuzzy - I've never experienced that. I always have found him to be really kind...and sometimes he'll crack a joke or two. Let us know how the GI series goes today.
How'd you like Andrea - isn't she the best?
