OT: Shall We Dance

Just got home from the movies. Richard Gere in "Shall We Dance"...what a feel good...funny movie. A chick flick for sure.....best movie I have seen in a long time! I highly recommend it.. Anyway..see it if you get the chance. Joanie

Hi, Joanie! I saw it a couple of weeks ago at a sneak preview. I agree with you...I really enjoyed it...especially because about 16 or 17 years ago (and over 100 lbs. ago, as well as before my lymphedema got to be as bad) I took ballroom dancing lessons. Not that I was ever as good as the dancers in the movie, but I did participate in some competitions (at the beginner's level) and even won some medals. Boy was that a lifetime ago! Hugs, Debby

You're the second person this week who told me I would enjoy the movie. I was skeptical, but I LOVE dancing and anything about dancing. Back in the day, I was pretty darn good. I'm going to have to get to it -- I don't think the man is going to be interested in that one, unless I use major bribery. We haven't gone out dancing in the 1 1/2 years we've known each other -- horrible!!!! I need to get him in the mood ... for dancing! Thanks! Kathy F.

I agree! The movie reviewers have trashed it. But, I enjoyed it. Sometimes I think movie critics need to just sit back and try to ENJOY a movie rather than nit picking it. Sheesh. Anyway, I also saw the Japaneese version of this movie...which was wonderful. It's available in the foregin film section of most larger movie rental places. It was an academy award nominee a few years back.
