Hello everyone, is there any hope to getting WLS covered if your employer excluded WLS rider?  Any advice appreciated. Thanks,  Maria in CT

Thank you.  I work for Ct. Hospice, Inc. and they dropped the rider 2 years ago.  I'm urging that they pick it up again in December.  We'll see!  I can only hope and pray. Has anyone fought and exclusion and won? Maria

unfortunately, depending on the size of your employer the exclusion may NOT be their choice.  I work for a small employer and initially faced the exclusion---if your employer belongs to CBIA they can change upon renewal, which is what my employer did for me--but Kathy is right, if you are comfortable, talk to your employer and if the exclusion is not their choice, see if they can change policies on renewal! good luck!

Maria, I had an attorney and worked directly with the State of Connecticut Insurance division---if your company has an outright exclusion--you won't win--no mater what--I can't believe someone as large as CT Hospice would have an exclusion--I would start in your HR department! good luck

Thank you for the info.  I'm sad about it but what can I do but keep hounding my HR dept.  I'll keep praying. Maria
